Herndon Library Hosts Open House, Santa's Workshop

The Fairfax County Public Library offered a Winter Open House/Santa's Workshop on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Herndon Fortnightly Library, 768 Center St., in the heart of the Town of Herndon. The free event celebrated the holiday season with live music, crafts, and visits from Santa and light refreshments.

The fun was part of the Town of Herndon's “Hometown Holidays,” a series of 11 events November through December that offers a multitude of different activities for all ages and interests. The happenings are meant to help celebrate the holidays with neighbors and friends in the Town of Herndon.

Upcoming events include Santa, Stars, And S'Mores on Friday, Dec. 8 at Runnymede Park and the Holiday Model Train Show Saturday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 10, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Herndon Municipal Center, 777 Lynn St. The W & OD caboose and the Depot Museum will be open for tours. The event is free.
