Herndon to Celebrate July 4

Herndon’s July 4 celebrations will be held around the Herndon Community Center and Bready Park, 814 Ferndale Ave., Herndon. It starts at 6:30 p.m. with arts and crafts, bingo and family games.

At 7:15 p.m., Whiskey Rebellion performs with the spontaneity of bluegrass, the ease of jazz, and the urgency of rock and roll to create their own unique take on everything from traditional bluegrass to modern party favorites, which will keep everyone entertained throughout the evening. A variety of food will be on sale ranging from hot dogs and hamburgers to funnel cakes and ice cream.

Fireworks choreographed to music will start around 9:30 p.m.

You can cool off and play indoors at the Herndon Community Center, too, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Daily admission fees apply.

Reston July 4 Celebrations

Lake Fairfax presents Fireworks food and family fun. The park will open at 7 a.m and the Water mine will open at 10 a.m.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m, there will be carousel and boat rides.

At 2:30 p.m., there will be puppet shows.

Live music from the Hard to Tell band will be on at 4 p.m.

And, at 9:15 p.m., fireworks.

Food vendors will set up near the park main office.

The campgrounds are available for anyone wishing to stay overnight. Reservations are highly recommended and will be accepted as long as space is available. Call 703-471-5415 x0 to make your reservation today.

At Reston Town Center, you can kick off the Fourth of July with an invigorating run at the Firecracker 5K for the Troops.

Enjoy live music and showing off your patriotism by waving American flags. Come out and root for your favorite military branch in the “Battle of the Branches” competition! Which Military branch runs the Metro area? Race starts at 8 a.m.
