In Parked Outside the Door, photographer John Petro explores two fundamental constructs of ingenuity that long ago separated homo sapiens from brutes: vehicles and buildings. While traveling the length and breadth of America, Petro captured scenes of mobility and permanence. Full of off-beat colors, textures, and randomness, each image of a vehicle make and architecture style embedded in the surrounding landscape of the nation is an expression of someone's individuality and life style. The exhibit is on display at ArtSpace Herndon Sept. 9 – Oct. 5. The Artist Reception is Saturday, Sept. 13, from 7 to 9 p.m.

ArtSpace Herndon exhibitions and receptions are free and open to the public. Some events have a nominal fee. Please visit www.ArtSpaceHerndon.com for the gallery’s hours, location, and exhibition and events schedule.
